The beginning of every new year is exciting, its an opportunity to start afresh, set new goals and aspirations and look forward to what the year will bring. We often find ourselves setting new year resolutions and making commitments to be better in different areas of our lives. Just like the beginning of last year, we made so many plans that didn't go as expected due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A lot of us were left sad, discouraged and frustrated because all our hopes, plans and dreams vanished so quickly.

We however do not have to start this new year with the fear of the unknown if we know the One who knows tomorrow, and we can depend on His wisdom and direction to direct us in 2021. As we plan for the new year let us ponder on God’s word in Isaiah 43:18-19. “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. God has a plan for every one and His plan is always good regardless of what life brings, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11.

As we begin the new year, let us set a new goal of embracing God’s love and His plan for our lives. When we put our trust in God, our hope will be renewed, and we can boldly face the future knowing fully well that the creator of the universe has our back. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:5-6 NLT

To place your trust in God; accept Jesus Christ alone as your savior. Pray this simple prayer:

Dear Jesus, thank you for making it possible for me to find peace with God. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. By faith I gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. I believe you are the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. I receive your peace and unending love. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be my Savior. Amen.

Wishing you a wonderful and Happy New Year.
